F I S H I N G R E P O R T S:
Cedar Creek, December 26, 2006
This was my first Blast N' Cast for me and the hunting was good but the fishing was better. I got to the Log Cabin boat ramp very early and headed to my hintung spot. Put out the decoys and then went to get my customers. I almost ran over a man in a small boat that was also trying to duck hunt - HE HAD NO RUNNING LIGHTS ON! He turned on a flashlight just in time for me to change course or he would have been flattened. Anyway I went and got my client and his 8 month old Lab puppy that he has been training. We had one bird come in and we got her a mallard hen and his puppy made a great first time retrieve. I am thinking the high north wind blew a lot of ducks south.
We put the guns up and picked up the rods and started fishing. we caught 15 Sandies that we kept and threw back a lot more. The water was around 49 degrees and fairly clear. We caught most of our fish on Lead Babies Slabs the Irish Special in the Pee Wee size. The Hybrids didn’t cooperate at all but we did have fun.
E-mail me if I can be of any use or help to you in anyway.
