I had the privilege of fishing with the Lee family again. I picked up Curtis, Ming, Jordan and Jessica from their boat house at around 7:45 and took us straight to the Spillway Hump. There were quite a few boats there and after catching a few nice Sandies we moved up the lake to the Tennis Courts and there was nothing going on there, tried another spot a fellow guide (Billy)showed me and it was blank as well.
I came back to Enchanted Isle and we found a nice school of fish. We managed to catch around a dozen good fish before loosing the school. Back to the Spillway Hump and a few more keepers were put in the box. Next stop, the Rock Boat House and a few more good fish. Then Merrimac and we caught quite a few there but I had to move a lot in the area because the schools were small and moving fast. Across the lake to Red Light Point and still more nice Sandies, lost the school again and went to Long Ridge and put a few more fish in the box. Tried the east side of the flats and managed some undersized Hybrids and made our final stop on our half day trip at Pitts Point where we had our best luck of around 20 keepers.
Total for the day was 25 or so good sized White Bass and another 50 in the 11 to 12 inch range, 1 big Crappie and some big Yellow Bass. We had several undersized Hybrids that were caught and released as well. All fish were caught on Lead Babies Pee-Wee model slabs with the Irish Special and Black Back/Gold Belly producing best.
Water is clear and in the low to mid 60’s. We caught all of our fish between 15 and 23 feet. It was a lot of fun and I look forward to fishing with the Lee family again soon.
E-mail me if I can be of any use or help to you in anyway.
