This was a full day of fishing!
I started the morning with a great pair of dads and their great kids. There was Olivia and her dad, Dan and then Daniel and his dad Shawn. I also met Keith from the Texas Fishing Forum while waiting for them to get there. Keith and I talked fishing for quite awhile and made a new friendship right off.
I started looking around the Wolf Cove hump once we got started with very little action when Keith gave me a call and said the fish were working off of Cloud Point. We ran over there and got in on the end of the action. I trolled the Hell/Pet some and put a couple fish on the box. I then tried the Greenville pump station and found some fish there again on the Hell/Pet. On the way back up the lake we found more birds working and caught quite a few more fish (again thanks to Keith) about this time I went back to the Wolf Cove area and managed to put a nice Striper in the boat for both families using the downriggers. These dads were a lot of fun and Olivia was a „."reel" trooper, if a fish was on the line she wanted to reel it in!
All in all, a nice half day morning trip with 50 White Bass and the 2 Stripers. The water has warmed back up and the fish are a little harder to keep up with. The slab of choice was the 1-1/2 ounce ghost minnow by Lead Babies in chartreuse with a black back. Not my choice the fishes! The Hell/Pet and the downriggers trolling jigs with 6‰ curly tail trailers.
The afternoon was spent with my friends Doris and Bob Carter. We worked a little at fishing but mostly just enjoyed the afternoon and evening on the water. They both tell me when we are together I am to relax and enjoy myself, they even let me reel in a fish every now & then! LOL
Thank to everyone who said „hello‰ and I hope to see all of you again soon.
E-mail me if I can be of any use or help to you in anyway.
