Cedar Creek, May 24-25, 2008
Cedar Creek is a great fishing lake! I took my friend and clients Jerry and Peggy Pack fishing for the entire weekend and it was great fishing both mornings. Jerry and Peggy can both work a slab very well. I also tied on some Jig Um Jigs Tag-A-Longs abive the Lead Babies for the shot at catching some doubles.
Doubles is when you can catch 2 fish at once. I use a barrel swivel and about a 2 foot leader. I tie the Tag-A-Long close to the swivel with a loop knot so that it swings freely and then the slab is tied on below that. The trick to catching a double is to feel the first fish strike and then hold pressure on the fish. As the first fish is swimming around another fish will see the other lure and take it. Once you feel the second strike you simply reel in both fish! It doesn’t take long to fill a 50 fish limit doing it this way.
We caught fish almost everywhere we went, Lynn Creek, Rock Pile and Merrimac.
The total for both days was over 300 fish caught and 100 kept for the Pack’s freezer as well as 1 nice Hybrid Striper around 24”.
E-mail me if I can be of any use or help to you in anyway.
