This fishery is just phenomenal! This Saturday was a repeat of the past several weekends.
Today I fished with my friends and repeat customers Joe and Ronnie Maikell and their friend Dickie. The fish were once again located in the deep water near the dam. The fish are really inhaling the baits right now. We stayed on the dam after many boats had left the area and it paid off. We caught our fish by around the time the wind came up at 10 am. The fish were in the 5 to 10 pound class and a lot of fun. With those fish we then started looking for Sand Bass. The second spot we tried had fish literally stacked on top of each other. It was non-stop action for close to 3 hours and most of the fish were released. We had our limits of Sandies by the time we quit at 2pm.
The Stripers are still taking the Holiday Sassy Shads and the Samdies love the Lead Babies and Burgess Baits slabs. Both these slabs hold up to 100 plus fish days extremely well and with their heavier weight you can really feel what they are doing, even in high wind conditions,
The water is fairly clear and around 58 to 60 degrees.
Good Luck from the Leprechaun!!
E-mail me if I can be of any use or help to you in anyway.
