Lake Tawakoni Saturday April 24, 2004
Hello To All,
Well I had a great weekend on Lake Tawakoni. The Whites are on a definite feeding trend! The Stripers are a little harder to come by with the live baiters doing better than us artifical fisherman.
The water temp is from 64-67 degrees and a little more off color with the rain we got. There are lots of birds on the lake right now and if you don't see any in the area you are - GO LOOKING!!
Where the birds are is where the fish are.
I drove out Friday night after Bass Pro and put the boat in. The thunder woke me up around 4:15 so I told Ms. Pattie (Shoestring Farms Bed & Breakfast) that we would all be sleeping in. I never had any takers on my cancellation for this date so I took out my Angel and her friends Doris and Bob, with it being Doris' birthday celebration. We finally got up and around about 7:30am and ate breakfast then lazed around till lunchtime. After lunch it cleared up enough for us to give it a try and we had a blast! The Stripers were tough but we managed one around 8-1/2 pounds on the Holiday Hump and the birthday girl caught it. It was Doris' biggest Striper to date. We then moved to the Wolf Cove humps and caught Sandie after Sandie. We caught somewhere between 3 and 400 all total with all being released including the Striper - YEAH! Less work for me!! Got off the water around 6 and took it easy from there.
E-mail me if I can be of any use or help to you in anyway.
