Another great day on Lake Tawakoni!!
I had three men in the boat and the fish really cooperated. It was one of those days when everything went well. We pulled up to the first spot and first cast caught the biggest Striper of the day - 12-1/2 pounds!. Three or four casts after that we caught a 6 pound Hybrid. This action continued hot for several hours and we wound up catching a limit of Stripers/Hybrids. The top 4 were 12-1/2, 11, 10 and 9 pounds. This action finally slowed and we went White Bass hunting and that was actually a little tougher. When we finaly found them it was only about an hour before the front hit but we managed to catch 47 keepers in that time with around 30-40 throwbacks!
The Stripers and Hybrid were caught on a combination of Holiday Baits, Glo-Sassy Shads and Chartreuse Metal Flake 4 inch baits on 3/4 ounce Holiday jig heads. The Sandies were all caught on Chartreuse Rainbo Shad Slabs. The water temp is 60 - 64 degress and was fairly clear. Lots of birds just sitting but not working much at all.
Almost all the fish were caught in 20 to 24 feet of water with the Striper/Hybrids coming from about 10 - 15 feet down with one fish hitting the bait 2 feet from the boat!
E-mail me if I can be of any use or help to you in anyway.
