F I S H I N G R E P O R T S:
Cedar Creek, March 24, 2007
This trip was a little more than a year in the making. Tracy Flagg bought a half day trip for her husband Dan for Christmas 2005. Well Dan’s schedule just could never quite get clear enough for him to go fishing. I made good on it though this past weekend finally.
Dan wanted a teaching trip on Crappie so I took him to the best one I fish, Cedar Creek.
I started off right inside Fisherman’s Wharf and we caught a Bass and 3 nice Crappie there. The Bass was caught on a Jig-Um-Jig. The Crappies were caught on that bait and a Bass Pro Shops Firecracker tube jig. All were in less than a foot of water.
That kind of slowed so then I showed him some bridge fishing. We caught a couple small fish on a Charlie Brewer’s Slider worm in Baby Bass color. I took us back shallow and we caught another bass and not much else.
After that we did a little Sand Bass fishing without much luck so I decided to try the dam area. This was a good move. Here we caught two more Crappie, 2 Sand Bass and around a dozen big Yellow Bass.
The water was around 60 degrees and stained. The lake continues to rise so I ma not be able to get my boat under the bridges.
E-mail me if I can be of any use or help to you in anyway.
